Yeah, I don’t know what to do here, hence the name. :)

Insane in the U.S.A pt 2

Some additional observations about all this insanity. If you haven’t read 1984 by now, why?? But if you haven’t, I beg you to go out and get a copy right now and read the entire book if you want to get a little insight into what is going on here. It’s fiction , but good grief it could as well be clairvoyance when looked at through the lens of today’s toxic social environment.

Many moons ago i got into political chat boards, this was shortly after 9/11 and I wanted to vent, or speak my mind. I was so naive back then on what I was getting myself into. I learned quickly that politics is indeed a blood sport. Couple that with the anonymity of the internet and you can see how the “gems” of society quickly found a platform. In that environment you learned to ignore the vile stuff, if you didn’t , it could destroy you. Trolls can get downright beyond vile. Places like this is where all the trolling you hear about began to morph into what we see today. I’ve started to realize lately that our country has turned into a life-size representation of those political chat boards I used to haunt.

The majority of us are trying to have a conversation about our country and how to make it work. We don’t all agree on every point and have some differing ideas as to how to fix some of the problems facing our society , but we’re all talking. And then , all of a sudden, some trolls show up and shit all over the place. Antifa, BLM, Nazis, KKK, Westboro Baptist Church,La Raza, Cair, etc etc. They are the trolls of our life-sized and real life political chat board. And now they’ve gone straight to Godwin’s Law. Godwin’s Law states  that in any given conversation  involving controversial subjects or politics in general, at some point someone is going to call their opponent a Nazi. We are there right now. The difference is, on a real chat board, the only thing you have to fear is having your feelings hurt. In our real life chat board, people can and have died, society could breakdown, bad things can happen.

Is this how we want to run our country now? They who whine the loudest and throw the biggest tantrums win?? 240 odd years and this is how we’re going to run things now? defacto mob rule, otherwise known as pure democracy, except in this case, it’s democracy where a tiny minority of the population dictates how the rest of us will live….and they say WE’RE the fascists.?? Both sides and the media are feeding this division, ever stop and ask….Why?

In part 1 i spoke about how Confederate statues were just the beginning. Since I posted that, there have been attempts at removal, vandalism, or outright destruction of monuments such as, Lincoln, Christopher Columbus, Teddy Roosevelt, talk of destroying Mt. Rushmore, and so on. I’m not a fortune teller, I just read history..why haven’t you?

It’s never been about the statues, they are just a means to an end. It’s not just my opinion, or something out of a fictional work, it’s part of our history. This is how Fascism, Nazism, totalitarian regimes start. Groups of thugs roaming the streets, enforcing their law, while espousing collectivist ideals of one variant or another. They ALL eventually lead to Nazi Germany, Soviet Russia, North Korea, Cuba, Venezuela, China, Yugoslavia under Tito(look him up), the list goes on and on.

After the statues, they go after historical documents, references to uncomfortable things are expunged and replaced with stories of glorious triumphs of whomever is in charge at the time. It’s not about the statues, it’s about Control. Is this really what we want for our country? WWII wasn’t a big enough wake up call? Too far distant in history to matter in your lives? Couldn’t happen again right?

At this point, it doesn’t matter one iota which side this or that group are on. What matters now is, which group(s) are using violence to deny other citizens their rights? And why aren’t they being brought to justice?  The light of day is the best disinfectant. When our so-called leaders will only criticize violence from one side, it should make you wonder whose side they’re really on, shouldn’t it? When your political opponents refuse to condemn violence from their side, yet claim how much more enlightened they are than you, it should make you question their sincerity. When one side is allowed to use violence as political speech, and the other side is condemned for merely speaking against the mainstream approved viewpoints, it should make you wonder what is really going on in your country.

The Constitution and our laws only work because we and the government all agree to abide by them. There is nothing written in stone that guarantees this will go on forever. If we are now not going to agree to abide by those rules, where exactly are we headed?? It certainly doesn’t look like a nice place, and it looks a lot like a novel I read, for the first time , in the year 1984.

Mass Hysteria

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted anything on this blog, but recent events have gotten so out of control I felt compelled to respond.

The hysteria that has been ginned up since Trump was elected has reached levels I’m finding hard to locate in our history. The closest I can come up with is McCarthyism in the 50s. Our parents and many others should remember those days, I wasn’t there but from all I’ve read over the years it was a crazy time here. By the end, everyone was seeing commies here, there, everywhere. In retrospect, Sen. McCarthy was initially correct in his accusations of communists secretly working in our government. The Russians, at least 10 years ago declassified a lot of their Cold War stuff and lo and behold, it showed exactly what Sen. McCarthy had said was true. That’s it, the initial charge was true and there were communists in our government trying to subvert our laws etc. What happened afterwards is what’s important in this discussion. Media reports became more and more sensational, other organizations began to try to “root out” the commies in their midst. People started accusing others of being communists or communist sympathizers..wait, I just thought of another instance, The Salem Witch Trials. While a much smaller scale, the same sort of hysteria happened…but I digress. People’s lives and careers were ruined and we later find out, none of it was true. It was pure unadulterated hysteria that took on a life of its own. The same thing is happening now.

Let me just say right off the bat, I’m not some rabid Trump supporter. Believe it or not, the vast majority of us who voted for Trump did not do so because we were under some delusion that he wasn’t a rude , crude, and socially unacceptable cad. We voted for him for mainly two reasons, Hillary was 1000s of times worse and we didn’t have any other viable choice. The fact we very rarely have viable choices from either side is a discussion for another time. We voted for him because we saw where things were headed and it wasn’t good and this guy was the only option to try to get things to change. Hillary wasn’t going to do it, she is on record as saying if she won it was going to be business as usual. So, no, don’t come at me and flood my feed with how much you hate Trump, I get it, we get it, the country gets it….you don’t like Trump.

That being said, nothing he’s done so far is worthy of impeachment. Don’t forget , for those of you who want Trump impeached. If he is, you can get used to saying President Pence, and he’s one of those “religious bigots” you keep telling us about, be careful what you wish for. There have been new “Breaking News” allegations since the day he was elected, before that it was maybe every other week the media went into meltdown mode. All of these allegations have one thing in common. None of them have ANY evidence to support them. Russia and Trump? Multiple government officials with knowledge of the investigation have stated under oath that there is no actual evidence of collusion. This goes back to July or August of LAST YEAR. A rational person might conclude after this lengthy of an investigation that Something, ANYTHING would have been found by now to support the allegations, but to date there is nothing.

The Comey Memo. This one is very recent and has fed the hysteria even more. Comey, when under oath at a recent Senate or House hearing on the matter stated that he, nor anyone else in his Dept was pressured to stop, slow walk, or otherwise hinder their investigation. This was said, AFTER the supposed memo was written by Comey. Furthermore, Trump, or any president can, at any time and for any reason, fire one of their direct employees. It’s been the law of the land for longer than I can remember. Not to mention Bill Clinton did it when he was in office. Does any rational person think that Trump firing Comey is going to stop the FBI investigation? Comey isn’t the one out there pounding the pavement for clues, no, career people at the FBI are conducting the investigation. They are not subject to the whims of politics, they keep their jobs no matter who sits in the Oval Office. The investigation never stopped because Trump fired Comey. A side note about Comey being fired…He was not liked by either side and both sides were very vocal about it. The Republicans wanted his head when he didn’t recommend charges against Hillary. The Democrats wanted him canned when he reopened the investigation into Hillary right before the election. The Democrats kept up their calls for Comey to be gone right up until a week before Trump fired him. So spare me the histrionics about how Trump firing Comey is an abuse of power or anything of the sort. That is all just politics and politicians hoping the American people will be too distracted to remember they wanted him gone too. Sadly, it appears they are correct in their assumptions about many people in this country.

Let’s see, what else has been blown way out of proportion recently..Oh yeah, Trump gave the Russians Top Secret intelligence. Contrary to the hysteria out there, it is not unusual for a president to share some intelligence with other nations when it suits our interests. As far as most of what I’ve read about this, there is nothing here. He didn’t compromise methods or anything like that. He spoke to the Russians in regards to this new threat from ISIS regarding laptops and other electronic devices.  This wasn’t a state secret, a week or so before Trump allegedly gave away the store to the Ruskies, an article in the New York Times talked about this new threat we were facing from laptops being brought onto airplanes. It spoke about how the U.S. was concerned and had forbidden laptops to be brought aboard U.S. carriers originating flights from the Middle East. It further went on to say that the U.S. was considering extending the ban to Europe as well. Believe it or not, the Russians share this risk along with all of us. They just had one of their commercial airliners blown out of the sky by terrorists. Ya think they might be a little interested in information that might help them protect their own citizens? Did Trump likely run off at the mouth? Yah, probably he did, but other people who were in the room who have far more credibility than Trump have stated categorically that nothing proprietary was discussed.

Take these and a host of other absurdities, such as CNN having an actual discussion and getting outraged that Trump got two scoops of ice cream and his guests only got one, add it all up and you get where we are now. Which in a weird way sort of ties into the whole McCarthyism from the 50s. We have little bits of allegations and assertions being blown out of proportion about Russia. We have a media hyping every single thing this administration does as the current end of the world, all we need now is for people to start turning others in as Russian agents to protect themselves and we have us a Red Scare all over again. Except this time you can add in violence perpetrated by one side, the side that lost an election. Do you not see where this is heading? Don’t you understand the risk we are facing if this insanity continues? People are being worked up into a frenzied mob. Frenzied mobs typically don’t respond peacefully to stimuli from either side. All of this is being done for solely political purposes. So a select few can remain in charge of all us plebes out here in the dirty backwaters of this country.

Trump is a bafoon, but he’s not an idiot and he’s not Hitler. IF, and I stress IF, anything actually considered evidence comes forward , then all bets are off and we’ll have to see where things go. But what is going on right now and being stoked by media and others, some of them elected officials, is going to lead to only one outcome. And it’s not going to be pretty, that’s not a threat, it’s a plea to step back from the precipice we are rapidly approaching before it’s too late. The Civil War was horrific , but if we have a repeat of actual open warfare between ourselves, it’s going to be far worse. Back then 600,000+ people died out of a population of roughly 31 Million. In today’s numbers that would mean a death toll of over 6 million people.

Think real hard about buying into the hysteria. Don’t confuse your hatred of a man for proof of a crime. Once the shooting starts, it ain’t gonna be pretty and it ain’t gonna be easy to stop. Stay vigilant, and if , one day, actual evidence emerges..then we all get together and throw out the criminal…no matter what party they belong to.

Not all Muslims are terrorists, 100’s of millions of Muslims are peaceful , follow the law of the land they live in , and serve their home country in a myriad of beneficial ways. Ok, now that we have the obvious out of the way, can we focus on the 100’s of millions of Muslims who aren’t these people? You know, the Muslims that want to kill us, and other Muslims for being the wrong type of Muslim apparently, instead of hearing yet again that Muslims are peaceful? Yes, many of them are, in fact, peaceful productive members of society…we’re not talking about those Muslims. In fact, those Muslims are pissed off as much as we are at what is going on in the name of their religion. I know I keep saying, can we stop saying what I’m saying but I’m doing it to drive home a point. We need to talk about the Muslims that are trying to kill all of us, but can never get past the platitudes and pronouncements about how Muslims are peaceful.

Political Correctness paralyzes us as a culture and as nations while the bad guys thrive and expand. Jihadis blow up Brussels , and MSNBC says this is a result of lax gun control laws. Our own leaders refuse to call this Islamic Terrorism, or even utter any phrase similar to that for fear of offending Muslims. I’m going to go out on a limb here and conclude that many millions of them are quite offended right now, who cares if we call them what they call themselves? Proposals are made by various politicians to temporarily halt immigration from Muslim countries until we can be assured that the bad apples will be found before they spoil the bunch. But we can’t even do that, the female that shot up San Bernandino with her husband passed a background check which didn’t include checking social media because it was deemed politically incorrect to do so. We can’t even trust our system to protect us from a routine visa check on one person, how can we trust it to accurately process tens of thousands of refugees? This and many more denials of reality are brought to us by Political Correctness.

Immigrants are the backbone of this country, we built this nation because of our immigrants. Once again, a true statement and frankly not debatable. It’s also a much used statement by immigration activists to blur the meaning of the word immigrant. They say, we are a nation of immigrants, how can we deny this opportunity to immigrants now? They claim it is racism that drives this “anti-immigrant” rhetoric, that immigrants are targeted unfairly because they are brown skinned. What they purposefully omit from their rhetoric is that these people are here in violation of our laws. By playing Orwellian games with the language they have omitted the word Illegal from the term used for people here….Illegally. Now, they can frame their opponents as xenophobic, racist, anti-American, etc etc. When, back in reality, no one except extreme whackos on both sides are against immigration to this country. We all know, our ancestors came from somewhere to live here, we get it. We’re not talking about people that come here legally, we are discussing people that have come here illegally, overstayed their visa, etc. Political Correctness prevents us from having this honest conversation about a very real problem in our country.

The Wall is not Trump’s idea, far from it. It was approved by Congress in 2006 and signed by the president. Congress never agreed to fund it, which in DC speak is considered a good day. Many things need to be done to solve this illegal immigration crisis we face, but we can’t even have a national conversation about it because you are shouted down as a racist or some other nefarious being. Will a wall stop all illegal crossings? Nope. Will it stop vast majorities of illegal crossings? Yup. Will it alone solve the problem with illegal aliens in our country? Nope. There are other factors involved, such as the millions of people that come here legally on a visa, then overstay it and disappear into society. Other countries, New Zealand for instance, keep track of people visiting their country on a visa. When the time is up they come and tell you it’s time to leave. If you haven’t left in a few days, they strongly persuade you to leave by helping you get to the airport to catch your flight. Solving that issue will also help solve the illegal alien problem in our country. There are a few other rational solutions to the problem. But until you stop the flow northward, the other problems can’t be solved. Hopefully Trump won’t be the nominee, but that wall/fence has to be built and the flood abated before any meaningful solutions can be put in place. Calling this “immigration” is Orwellian, and needs to stop. Political Correctness needs to stop.

Trump, yah that guy. I hope he’s not the nominee, I really do , because I don’t want to have to vote for him, but I will. The choices on the other side are far worse for our country than a loud mouth braggart. That being said, Trump in his own way has done a great service to this country. He’s exposed the fallacy of political correctness and shown it to be the cancer on society that it is. I’ve shown but a couple examples of how political correctness has metastasized into the ungodly monster we see today. It has already affected our judgement as a nation in non-beneficial ways. We have become paralyzed into inaction for fear of offending this group or that group. We are naively accepting that all cultures are equal and no one has a right to judge. While true in a general sense, if your culture includes treating women as property to trade like baseball cards. If your culture considers being gay a capital offense. If your culture is based upon the abrogation of basic human rights….Yes, we can judge your culture, that’s not being politically incorrect or racist, or xenophobic….It’s simply correct.

Here we are again, Four years later

I always have so much to say, until I actually sit down in front of the computer, then I’m blank.

Within a week, the actual voting begins, and we get to decide on which two morons will duke it out to be our fearless leader. If you’ve read my posts over the years , then it should be easy to conclude I won’t be voting for any of the Democrats running this year. Years ago I voted for a Democrat, was registered Democrat, believed all the B.S. they spew, then I matured and woke up to the realization that they were batshit crazy. None of their ideas ever worked. So, I became a Republican, the deciding factor was when I heard my president, under oath, equivocate on the meaning of the word ‘is’. The Republicans have shown themselves to be batshit crazy too, but far less so than the Dems. In fact, they sometimes manage to actually accomplish good things for all of us, Welfare Reform, back in 1996, is one off the top of my head.

That being said, I’m conservative in my views with a bit of libertarian thrown in for good measure. Some conservatives are Republicans, but as a whole, the Republican party is basically the Democrat party lite. They’re still driving us off the cliff, but they’re taking the time to stop and smell the roses along the way. Contrary to the popular view, conservatives don’t want to starve old people, we don’t hate poor people, could care less what your skin color is or who you sleep with. We are not against clean air, water, or land, we just disagree on how you achieve such goals without wrecking your economy in the process. The Welfare Reform Act of 1996 is an example of good law , that actually did what it was intended to do, and benefited millions of people.

Welfare Reform didn’t starve poor people, it didn’t throw them out on the streets. It did , however, get millions of Americans the training and help they needed to get off welfare. Granted, it was a requirement or you got kicked off, but it worked. Millions of people dropped off welfare eventually , not because those evil conservatives threw them out in the cold, but because they had job skills and jobs enabling them to support themselves. This not only gave them the self respect of being able to take care of themselves, it reduced the burden on the Welfare system thus allowing limited resources to be directed towards the truly needy.

One of the first things Obama did when he got into office was to remove those requirements in the system. The result 7 years later? Have you seen the Welfare rolls lately? Over 45 million people on food-stamps, an all time high, even when taking population differences over time into account. Does that make the differences in approach and outcomes easier to understand? This isn’t to say that only one side has all the answers, but of the two approaches to the same issue, one was pilloried in the press and other media outlets and one method was praised and hailed for its vision. Guess which one worked and which one failed.

I told you that , so I could tell you this. This election is important to where we are going as a nation. Despite what you hear in the press, Americans in general and Republicans in particular are not racists. In fact, the implication is highly offensive, and since being offended is practically a protected state of mind these days, my offense must be acknowledged and these constant micro-aggressions must cease or I will be forced to retreat to my safe space. Then you guys will be sorry, oh I’m sorry , guys is genderphobic ,I should have said persons or humans instead of guys.

This idiocy is what is represented by the Left these days. These inanities and others, including such things as gutting a successful government program to buy votes and hurting the very people you claim to be helping are what we are facing from the Left side of the aisle. One of their candidates is an avowed Socialist ( communist, let’s be honest here) The other one is trying to out left him while dodging a very probable criminal indictment. Oh and O’Malley is running too. None of their ideas are new, none of them have ever worked throughout history. We’re experiencing it right now as to how successfully this approach is going. Bernie promises even more of this, Clinton hedges her bets but basically promises at least as much as what we have now. Oh, and O’Malley is running too. I can list endless historical and contemporary examples of failed leftist policies but I’ll leave that to the curious among you to find out for yourself.

There are still far too many people on the Right ( as it were ) to discuss all of them, so I’ll focus on the leaders. We have a successful businessman but he’s a blowhard, we have a Constitutionalist but his own colleagues don’t like him, we have another young Senator running( we just did that, not working out), another blowhard but this one is a governor version, and some dude whose dad and brother used to work in government or something. Oh, and O’Malley..oops, sorry, my bad.

I say all of this, but would still vote for any of them as opposed to the other choices. You see, I’m under no illusion that they are going to be able to do everything they propose. But , if they’re able to do enough of it, our country will be much better off…for EVERYONE. Conservative principles, when implemented, have been shown to be the better choice for the most people than the alternative. Once again, there are countless examples and not enough room to list them all. I encourage you to look at the time periods of 1920-24(28), 1948-50, 1960-63, 1980-88(92) These ushered in good economic times for all of us. These were both Republicans and Democrats doing this. Party doesn’t mean anything, it’s principles that matter. These were conservative principles being employed and they worked.

Take what I’ve said into account. Go look up what I said, don’t take my word for it. Think long and hard before you cast your vote this time around.

Critical Thinking and You ..Part Deux

Little over three years ago I wrote a blog post about critical thinking and the lack thereof in our culture. It’s right here —–> link if you wish to read it. Well, three years later, it seems the problems have gotten worse not better. Let’s start with what I said about oil back in 2012.

Back in April of 2012 gas prices were sky high and everyone was going bats*** crazy and screaming at the oil companies about unfair profits. As I said back then, the oil companies have little to do with the price of oil.  The price is determined by supply and demand, and the perceived or real threat to that equation. This is not unique to oil, it applies to everything in an economy in one way or another.

Noticed how much the price of eggs have risen lately? Ever wondered why, of course you did. A bird flu epedemic struck most of our chicken flocks and millions and millions of chickens had to be destroyed to protect the rest. Millions fewer chickens laying eggs during a period of sustained demand for eggs , equals higher egg prices.

Back to oil, at the time demand was at or just above supply levels thus prices were very inflated. Record profits by oil companies wasn’t a conspiracy to gouge us, it was simple math. It doesn’t matter what the price of oil is because the same technology is used to extract it. That technology costs X amount of money to operate per barrel of oil extracted, this includes cost of labor etc. So, if oil has to be at say 30 dollars a barrel in order for it to see a profit. Then how is it unfair if that company’s profits increase if the market value of oil increases beyond that level? It’s costs remain the same.

Many people here in the states quickly realized this and an oil boom hit here in the U.S. At those higher prices, it was finally profitable to use new (more expensive) technologies to extract oil. This led to an increase in supply, enough begin to get ahead of demand. At the same time, economies around the world began to slow, China chief among them. This led to decreasing demand for oil around the world, prices began to fall. This began to seriously cut into OPEC’s profits.

They saw our increasing oil production as an economic threat to them. ( rightfully so ) So they decided to play hardball. Instead of reducing output they left production levels the same. Combined with what our drillers were doing, an oil glut is now upon us, thus prices have dropped. This has led to many U.S. companies closing, that’s how the market works. That’s just how it works. No conspiracies, no inherent unfairness or nefarious actions. Just simple math and free market forces working properly..just like I said back in 2012.

This is what critical thinking is all about. Taking what you are told and then taking into account all factors involved and reaching a well thought out and reasoned conclusion. This is not taught , or if it is, it’s brushed over and not emphasized. As a result we have people falling for all forms of B.S. being spewed by both sides on any given “news item” Oil companies are greedy, Republicans hate -insert latest “transgression” – , whiny college kids represent the majority of college kids, the scourge of Political Correctness, etc etc. Listening to media spin will prevent you from gaining all the needed facts to draw a proper conclusion. Learn critical thinking skills, question everything, even claims by your own side. If you don’t, you’re just another sheep to be led around by your nose towards the goals of someone else.

Disappearing Police Enforcement

Today the Director of the FBI gave a speech talking about crime rates and how they have risen recently. He said, after speaking with a group of police chiefs from around the country, that part of the rise in crime rates is due to what he calls the Ferguson Effect. Basically what he’s saying is that since Ferguson , police officers have become reluctant to do their jobs for fear of being falsely accused of some “heinous” act. Granted, there are some bad cops, it’s statistically impossible for any group to not have a few bad apples. But the way all police are so broad brushed today is unreal. While I understand that the police have never really been everyone’s favorite profession because you rarely encounter them to just talk about the weather or yesterday’s score in the game., they are not the bad guys here…the Bad Guys are the bad guys, not the cops.

Groups like Black Lives Matter, and people like Al Sharpton claim police are targeting black people and have a racial animus towards anyone not white. They somehow miss the fact that large percentages of police officers are , you know…not white. We hear statistics that state blacks represent a higher percentage of stops than whites.  But does anyone stop to think about it in this way, or are there any statistics that show this? If you look at stops in a given neighborhood, I would bet a dollar to a doughnut that you are going to see rates of encounters closely matching the racial makeup of that neighborhood. If it’s majority black, then you’re going to see more stops of blacks than say, Asians. That’s not racial animus, that’s called doing their job. However, if you use data for an entire city, you’re going to get a somewhat different result. This doesn’t show racial bias of any sort, though it does imply statistical bias. Policing isn’t about making sure we arrest people based on their races’ percentage in society, it’s about stopping or deterring crime regardless of skin color.

Another way to look at this is to realize that over 90% of blacks murdered in this country die by the hands of other blacks, not police officers. This is never brought up by Black Lives Matter, gee , wonder why? Could it be that they can’t generate a racial divide by fighting to stop this atrocity? No money in it for them? If Black Lives Matter, which they do, along with everyone’s lives, then why does this group not march to stop that? No, all they march about is how unfair it is that they’re picked on by the police. They chant slogans of death to cops, kill whitey, etc( oh so helpful when trying to bridge a racial divide by the way)  Who is it that is calling the police in minority neighborhoods? Do white people sneak into the neighborhoods at night and randomly call the police to report a crime or ask for help? No, other minorities are calling the police for help. Are those people racist for calling the police on the bad guys, or is it only the police that are racist for arresting them?

Enough of this! Police officers are people like us. They have families that love them and they try their best to do a shitty job. The majority of police are decent people , but look at what they deal with on a daily basis. They are not typically encountering the best our society has to offer. Even the kindest person will eventually weary of the constant drumbeat of repeated contacts with the less than stellar members of our society. This makes many of them quite jaded, but that does not mean they turn into racist monsters that can’t wait to go out and shoot or arrest some minority.

Just watch, as more and more police back down, mainly for their own safety in this super charged environment, we will see crime rates rise dramatically and there will be cries from the people that we need to do something about all the criminals running rampant in our streets. Which communities will suffer the brunt of this? You guessed it, minority communities. The cops aren’t welcome in those neighborhoods these days, who is going to come when innocent people in these neighborhoods call for help and none arrives? Cops don’t arrest people because of their skin color, they arrest you because you broke the law. Don’t want to get arrested and or sent to prison? STOP COMMITTING CRIMES, get a job or go to school but stop blaming the police when they catch you doing something wrong. Do we really want a society without police?

Just a few things bouncing around in my noggin.

When you hear politicians, mostly on the left but a few on the right, talk about immigrants and how we have to help immigrants. They’re not talking about legal immigrants. They’ve stopped distinguishing between legal and illegal immigration. It’s a word game they hope you don’t notice. Listen to what the presidential candidates on the Democrat side are saying about immigration. They speak of how the Republicans don’t like immigrants for instance. This is a flat out lie, but they get away with it by not distinguishing between the different types of immigrants. Don’t be fooled by this, when they say Republicans don’t like immigrants, what they mean is we don’t want illegal immigration. No one, and I mean no one of any stature on the Republican side has any issue with legal immigration. It’s disingenuous to claim we are trying to kick immigrants out of the country, as Debbie Wasserman Shultz , DNC chairwoman said the other day in an interview. We simply want people to come here legally and not sneak into the country. That’s not racist, or anti immigration or anti immigrant. It is actually pro immigration, legal immigration.

Recently, here in California, Sea World was seeking a permit to greatly increase the size of the enclosure for Killer Whales. The permit was allowed, but with one condition. The condition was brought on by PETA and other environmental groups protesting Sea World. They’re citing such things as Blackfish etc. Blackfish has been proven to be completely fabricated, none of it is true. Anyways, the condition the Coastal Commission put on Sea World was that they couldn’t breed Killer Whales at the San Diego park. This smear campaign against Sea World has got to stop. They do so much good for marine animals and they most certainly don’t mistreat their animals. Blackfish is a lie, the allegations being made about Sea World aren’t true, and the Coastal Commission is on shaky legal ground in denying Sea World the right to breed its Killer Whales…the sure to be ensuing court case will tell the tale. But it got me to thinking, who is going to be the lucky person that gets to tell the KILLER WHALES, they can’t have sex????? Talk about cruel and unusual punishment…..

Turns out Putin is doing the jobs Americans don’t want to do. While our Dear Leader waffles away and worries about his handicap, chaos is going on in the Middle East. Yes, that’s kind of redundant, but it’s really bad this time. Obama’s strategy is a joke, and worthless at best. Into this vacuum steps Putin, he comes in, is beating the living shit out of ISIS in Syria and it’s barely been two weeks. How long has Obama been trying to disrupt and degrade ISIS? Putin is making us look weak , and ineffective, and frankly , we are. It’s not because we can’t do the job, but because we have a weak leader.

Unemployment numbers have been distorted for years, well not the numbers themselves per se, but the way they are reported gives a false impression. There are 6 classifications of unemployment as far as the Bureau of Labor Statistics is concerned, U1- U6. The U3 number is the one that is always reported and is considered the official unemployment rate which today stands at 5.1% The real reflection on the job situation is the U6 number. This one shows umemployed, people working part time that want full time work, and those marginally attached to the workforce(basically unemployed but get a job once in awhile) The current U6 number is 10% according to the BLS. This does not show a growing economy, or a rosey job picture. This, among other factors, shows an economy sputtering along, not going strong, as you hear government officials constantly claim. The percentage of working aged people in the workforce( Workforce Participation Rate) is at a 40 year low. It is approx 62%, that means 38% of the working aged people in this country are not working. The reason the U3 number is going down is due to how the BLS calculates unemployment. If a person on unemployment doesn’t find a job by the time their unemployment runs out, they are not counted as unemployed anymore. In fact, they’re not counted at all, this is why the unemployment rate appears to be dropping. Smaller group sampled, smaller percentage of people counted as unemployed.  If these people were counted, the unemployment rate would be through the roof. You can see why they manipulate the numbers now, don’t believe it when you hear the unemployment rate on the news. Look at the U6 and the Workforce Participation Rate for the real picture. This isn’t secret or hidden knowledge, the government puts out this data monthly for all to see.
