Welcome to the funny farm aka The Rantings of a Recently Converted Independent

A website devoted to the unashamed pursuit of non PC discussions in an open and free manner. Respect people , just because you should do it no matter what. That doesn’t mean you can’t disagree with or agree with whomever you like, just don’t be a prick about it. Speak your mind without fear, something bugs you? something makes you happy? let it out.

Ok, so I have this new blog and suddenly have writer’s block. Trust me, I’m not one known to keep my mouth shut when I have something to say. Stay tuned, I’ll get my feet soon and then the floodgates will be open. For now the blog is private, invite only. As I get this stuff down and find my stride I’ll consider opening it up to more people. I don’t care if you want to invite someone you feel would fit in, but they need to have a thick skin, this site isn’t going to be politically correct…..that being said, I’m not here for flame wars. We can agree to disagree on certain subjects and leave it at that. If problems occur, I will do my best to diffuse the situation to the benefit of both parties, but I’m not ruling out getting rid of people solely here to stir the pot.

Guess I did have a few things to say after all. More to come

Glad to see you starting this thing up…now maybe I can keep you and Jeff from killing each other verbally on my Facebook!

So will the first blog be about the “pieceful” Islamic demonstrators in Afghanistan?

Seems most I’ve read seem to believe the Pastor should be held accountable.

I still believe in free speech, so I’d have to say….nope, I hold the guy with the machete accountable.

    What do YOU think?

    • Well, yah. The Pastor is a publicity hound. I don’t care what he burns as long as he’s not destroying someone’s personal property or committing arson. Yes, free speech is alive and well in my household. My household being the United States 🙂

I’m just sick and tired of hearing that every time someone says or does something about or to Islam. Many of the practitioners of this so-called religion of peace riot, or kill people to prove how peaceful they are.

This beats battling silly Liberals on message boards any day.

  4. Thanks Grem. I’m not trying to steal anyone’s thunder over on SS.com. I just wanted to create a place for me to speak my mind and discuss issues without having to be concerned about how I say something in order to avoid flame wars.

As open as I am on that other board, I’m not as open as I can be here. I do constantly edit my posts as I write them if I see an angle opponents could jump on. It helps that I’ve been on that board for years and can pretty much predict how such and such a person will react to something I’ve said. If I feel like a little fishing, I’ll leave it in, if I just want to get my point across and avoid flame wars, I’ll edit it, or put in a disclaimer for the leftists…..they typically need subtlety explained, yet claim to be the smartest people in the room

Bob: you and I have talked about this before: where is the room for us moderates? ones who are neither PC nor are they not PC, just walk the middle path.

Maurice: did you mean to spell Peaceful Pieceful? Play on words?

The pastor – IMHO – should be tried for treason: he aided the enemy by burning the Qu’ran knowing it would inflame the enemies of this country, and it did —– in Afghanistan a few days after, when 12 innocent people were killed in retaliation….. I wonder what he would do or say if one of “them” burned the Holy Bible??? He surely is not practicing the Christian principle of turning the other cheek!

PS. One of the most commonly recognizable definitions of treason is “giving aid and comfort to the enemy”. Think about it!

  6. Maurice was using a play on words.

If someone burned a Bible, I’m sure he’d be upset, and probably get in front of a camera and rant and rave about how mean and cruel it was to burn the Bible. But the chances of him or any of his followers rioting in the streets and killing 12 people are slim to none, and Slim left town.

That’s the point I’m trying to make. Go read my latest post about the so-called religion of peace. When it comes to overreacting, the Muslims are professionals.

  7. As far as PC or non-PC it doesn’t matter here. I merely stated that I am not PC so people shouldn’t be surprised if I say something non-PC. I firmly believe that political correctness has poisoned our society and it’s notions of free speech, all in the name of not hurting anyone’s feelings.

  8. I was suggested this blog by means of my cousin. I’m no longer sure whether this post is written via him as nobody else recognize such particular about my difficulty. You are incredible! Thanks!
